As we draw ever closer to Nintendo's E3 presentation, I shall point you in the direction of Iwata's Pre-E3 show to get you up to speed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AkPdAWfFjI

Thoughts on ZombiU?
Looks INCREDJABLE! Ubisoft are on a roll now, they've really stepped up their game. I remember hearing that Ubisoft is going to be a big contributor to Wii-U games, and I was bracing myself for the worst. But now after seeing their E3 conference (and someone should slap an 18+ rating on that), I'm really impressed with what they are doing.

Two new gameplay trailers for ZombiU, one in a nursery and the other in Buckingham Palace. Looks awesome.

We have our specs:
The Wii U supports full HD 1080p, and uses a "GPGPU." The flash memory is 2GB; The games use only 1 GB of main memory, and the system memory is for OS. The game discs hold 25 GB, 22.5 MB/s. The browser can be used while playing games. The Wii U consumes up to 75 watts of electricity, and 40 watts is average for the system. You can import your Virtual Console and Wii Ware games from your Wii, so you don't have to worry about that. You can switch to Wii mode for playing Wii games. There is low latency (lag) for GamePad use. You can watch videos and play games (duh) on the GamePad You can do multiplayer using a GamePad and several Wii remotes or pro controllers. Dual-screen play is possible as well. "Play together on Wii U, play alone on Wii U". There is a vertical stand, and the GamePad stand set to be available soon. Pro Controller: ~5000 yen. (think £40.) and extra Gamepad: ~14500 yen (*gulp* £135.) NSMBU and NintendoLand to go on sale on launch day, for ~6000 ($60) and ~5000 ($50) yen. NSMBU is the 1st Mario game to launch with a Nintendo system since N64. 2 SKU's set to launch, a premium (32 GB memory, two stands, and the Nintendo Network Premium account. The NNP gives you points for each game you buy, gives you back when you buy the digital version of a title, and lasts for two years.) and basic set (The poor mans box: 4 GB memory, gamepad, console, charger, manual, and no NNP.) It is due out on Dec. 8th in Japan.
We'll be getting our European release date at 3pm today.
Premium-Edition-a-go-go? I think so.

I probably won't get one until Smash Bros, or if there's something else really good coming out for it.

Some big topics from Nintendo Direct: -More Miiverse functionality for games, including a very useful one for Wii Fit U. -GBA games will be coming to the Wii U Virtual Console. -NES and SNES Virtual Console games will have a reduced price if you've transferred the same games from your Wii to Wii U. -NES games will be sold at 30 cents for 30 days to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the NES release. -A new Yoshi game developed by Good Feel, the same developers behind Kirby's Epic Yarn. -A crossover title between Nintendo's Fire Emblem and Atlus' Shin Megami Tensai. -Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101 have new footage. -The new Mario Adventure, new Mario Kart and Smash Bros. 4 will be shown off at E3 this year. -The next Zelda title is in development. -Zelda: Wind Waker HD announced (YES). It will be released sometime in Autumn and support some Miiverse functionality. -Monolith Soft (Xenoblade developers) annouce a new game in development. No name yet but it's essentially an open-world RPG with mechs. Overall, some great announcements. A Nintendo Direct based solely on the 3DS will be released soon.

A couple of tidbits from Nintendo Direct (All Sonic related content kept in their respective sections):
The New Super Luigi U DLC for New Super Mario Bros. U is released on June 20th. However, there will also be a retail version on July 26th for a limited time (that's tempting if I'm honest). Nabbit from NSMBU will also be a fourth playable character (since Mario is nowhere to be seen).
The Wonderful 101 will be released on August 23rd.
Pikmin 3 will also see a release on July 26th. The three playable characters are named Alph, Brittany and the captain, Charlie.

Finally got myself a Wii U. I only have Nintendo Land and ZombiU at the moment, but I'm really enjoying it. The controller is surprisingly nice to hold and quite light. If anyone wants to add me as a friend, I'm StarlightSonic.
I also played the demo of Sonic Lost World, and wow. It feels way better than the 3DS version. I can't wait to get hold of the full version.

I'll add you sometime tomorrow. Been very ill lately and haven't had the strength to do a whole lot.
