Those elusive little figures that everyone is scrambling to own. Do you collect them? Or is the rarity not worth it?
I wasn't planning on collecting them, but the builds of them are such amazing quality. I only have Smash ones at the moment, but the Mario Party ones look equally nice.

"I only want Link," I said. "I'm not really interested," I said.
It started with just one...
Ahem, but yeah, the amiibo addiction has flocked to me as well. The ones I currently own are Link, Samus, Mega Man, Marth and Shulk. I'm a little ashamed to admit this, but I paid more for Shulk and Marth than usual for different reasons: Shulk is a Japanese import I found on eBay for a surprisingly decent price. Not only is he a rare one, but he also works with Xenoblade 3D (and I wouldn't be surprised if he works on Xenoblade X as well. Perhaps as a Shulk themed costume for Cross). As for Marth, I happened to see him in the window of my local CEX for £25. To be honest, the build quality of these figures is too good for their standard price. In my opinion, if you've paid under £30, I'd say it's worth it. I have a friend who has a complete set (of the Smash ones, that is) and he paid over £50 for some of the rare figures.
But that's not all. I have some more coming in the future. I finally managed to secure a Ness amiibo after weeks of searching and I sniped three amiibos that Nintendo put on their online store yesterday: Ganondorf, Palutena and Dark Pit. I'll need to find Pit in order to not make them look too out of place. I also pre-ordered the Splatoon bundle that comes with all three a couple of weeks ago.
I SWEAR I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM! I CAN QUIT ANY TIME I WANT! YOU'RE NOT MY REAL DAD!
Okay, for reals, I'm honestly not intending to get all of them. I'm focusing mainly on characters I like the most/characters that work on more than just Smash (Mario Party 10 not counting, since I don't really care too much about that game).

That's how it starts, isn't it? I was only planning on getting Sonic and maybe Charizard, and yet...
I currently have Sonic, Luigi, Yoshi and Mario. Hopefully Lucario soon, but he's rarer. I'm not sure what my chances of getting a hold of Charizard and Pac-Man are, but I def want to pick up those two if possible.
But yes, like you I'm mainly just after the characters I like. Other than the Smash Bros. ones, I gotta have that Yarn Yoshi one. I just wish Nintendo would make more, considering how insanely popular these things are.

This is a pretty good site to keep track of amiibos you're after, though they only focus on big name stores. Sadly, you have to do some extra searching in some lesser known places. Apparently Amazon had restocked Robin, Charizard and Pac-Man earlier and they all went away.

Yoshi's Woolly World and its amiibos are available for pre-order on the Nintendo Online Store. Sadly, the bundle with all three is (predictably) sold out, but all three are still available in separate bundles. One is all you need in this case, if you ask me.

I hope those Wooly Yoshis don't sell out too quickly, but the chances are slim.
Managed to snag a Lucario and Charizard, but Pac-Man still eludes me. Dang scalpers.

Pre-ordered a Yarn Yoshi amiibo. Was hoping for a blue one, but alas, those are all gone everywhere.
Still searching for a Pac-Man. Nintendo have apparently apologised for the Amiibo stock issues and are going to restock rare ones. This won't last long, I'm sure.
I've seen some creative nicknames for Amiibo, what do you call yours?

I wonder if rare and custom amiibo are on sale at MCM this weekend. Hey, I've discovered rarer things there.

Thought I'd deliver a little update on my collection. A while ago, Nintendo put Kirby and Meta Knight back in stock so managed to snag them both. Dark Pit, Palutena and Ganondorf all arrived earlier today.
Definitely will be getting both Lucas and Ryu when they eventually get a release.

Amiibo seem to be getting even harder to obtain. I hope I can get Duck Hunt Duo.
The Yarn Yoshi amiibo is a little smaller than expected, but absolutely adorable.

A bunch of amiibo have been back in stock in the Nintendo Store. So happy that I've finally got Pit coming in. And for a certain someone, Pac-Man's back in stock (at the time of this post that is).

The long rumoured Shovel Knight amiibo finally got confirmed by Yacht Club Games last night. Its uses?
-Unlocks Challenge Mode -Customise your gear -Co-op mode in the Wii U version
And it'll have further uses in future expansions of Shovel Knight. This is the game's exclusive content for the Nintendo versions of the game. Already got mine pre-ordered.
In other amiibo news, Duck Hunt Duo, Mr. Game & Watch, R.O.B. and the Mii amiibos are all available for pre-order.
