| https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0a7-1wdDuwSo from what we can tell, it's a reboot game. I guess that explains the different character models (for Sonic and Knuckles that is) but I honestly don't know what to think about this game. | |

| This genuinely concerned me, but it looks like it's not a full reboot, just another part of the franchise. Game canon isn't affected, which is good, because I would be heartbroken if Shadow was gone.
The game looks pretty good. Sorta reminds me of R&C and Crash Bandicoot. Sonic's design is super cute, but Knuckles still looks really iffy to me.

The game looks pretty good. Sorta reminds me of R&C and Crash Bandicoot. Sonic's design is super cute, but Knuckles still looks really iffy to me. There's a reason why it would remind you of that. The team behind this are former developers from Naughty Dog. As for the designs, I'm not a big fan of them. Tails and Amy look alright, but Sonic looks a bit too lanky for my tastes. Also, his arms are blue and I know that shouldn't bother me, but it just looks odd to me. And Knuckles? Ugh. And I know people will read this and think that I can't accept change. Trust me, I can. But accepting change and liking a new design are two different things. The design change for Spyro was absolutely atrocious and while this is nowhere near as bad as that, I can't help but feel that could affect my overall enjoyment. (Oh, God, I'm starting to turn into what I hate) Still, the game might be pretty fun. It's still in a heavy development so I'll reserve judgment for then.

| The Sonic Boom show is actually really good; not too over the top, genuinely funny and good animation. Looking forward to watching more.
The game however, just looks... really not good. I'm really disappointed, this is the first Sonic game, I've not wanted to buy, and I enjoyed Sonic 06. Shadow's inclusion seems really hollow too, it's such a shame.

| I agree that it doesn't look like the best game ever, but I do intend on getting Rise of Lyric at some point and go in there with an open mind. It doesn't look like it's on the level of bad Sonic games like '06 and Shadow and the amount of difference from the norm looks like a step in the right direction, even if it's only temporary.
I've been hearing so many complaints from fans saying the sound mixing is awful, the graphics are pretty bad and the camera is terrible. You know what other game has these problems? Sonic Adventure. And I like that game more than SA2. I fully reserve my right to go back on my opinion once I eventually play RoL and true, there are some glaring problems I can notice straight off the bat, but I'm going to give it a chance and try to have fun. Because that's the most important part in the end.
That said, however, it will most likely end up being on my Amazon Wishlist but this is mainly because Smash Bros. Wii U and Pokemon hold a higher place in my "Games I must play now" list.
Also, I've enjoyed what I've seen of the show. To think, that's the same animation team behind the Donkey Kong Country cartoon. How times change, eh?
